Building automation
Building automation your business can run on
KNX, UniFi, and Home Assistant — designed for commercial spaces, installed with documentation, maintained without mystery.
Overview
Automation that survives a real working day
Consumer gadgets fail when staff, clients, and facility partners all depend on the same switches and scenes. I design systems installers understand, networks that stay up, and logic your team can explain — with one technical owner from design through handover.
- KNX for robust lighting, climate, blinds, and access in commercial installs
- UniFi networks sized for cameras, Wi‑Fi, and automation traffic
- Home Assistant where you want flexible rules, dashboards, and integrations

Projects
New build, retrofit, or upgrade
From showroom fit-outs to office upgrades — scoped around how the site is used, not a catalogue of gadgets.
- New commercial builds: coordinate with architect, electrician, and IT from early design
- Retrofits: improve control and networking without throwing away what still works
- Commissioning, testing, and as-built docs for facility teams and follow-up partners

Why it works
Control, network, and logic aligned
Fewer gaps between electrician, IT, and automation — with systems chosen for maintainability, not showroom demos.
Spaces that support the business
Lighting, climate, access, and scenes aligned with opening hours, presentations, security, and energy use.
Infrastructure-grade reliability
KNX wiring, solid UniFi networks, and automations with fallbacks — built for daily operation, not press day.
Documented and transferable
As-built documentation and explainable logic — so facility teams, IT, or a follow-up partner can maintain and extend the system.

Building automation — common questions
What companies ask before a commercial automation project.
Do you only do new builds?
No. Retrofits and phased upgrades are common — especially offices and showrooms that need better control or networking without a full rebuild.
Why KNX instead of consumer smart home?
Commercial sites need installer-grade wiring, standard components, and behaviour that stays predictable when many people use the space. KNX is built for that; consumer ecosystems are not.
Who maintains it after handover?
You do, with your facility or IT team — supported by documentation and training. I can stay involved for changes and expansions, but you are not locked into a proprietary cloud you cannot touch.
Still have questions?
Tell me about your situation — I will be direct about fit, scope, and timing.
Tell me what you're building
A short conversation is enough to see if we're a fit — no pitch deck, no pressure.
